Banksia Praemorsa _ Cut Leaf Banksia.

Banksia Praemorsa _ Cut Leaf Banksia. This is a wonderful Banksia with large wine red flower spikes to about 30cm high and 10cm wide. The flowers are usually wine red but occasionally yellow flowering varieties are seen. It’s a shrub growing to around 3 or 4 metres high and wide accepting of mild frost preferring well-drained soils in coastal, dry or hot areas. It usually has a dense growing habit suitable for screening and the interesting serrated leaves are smaller than most other varieties of similar leave shape. A sunny location is preferable and the plant is wind resistant good for exposed sites. The flowers are long lasting in a vase or can be dried. This Banksia originates in Western Australia but has proven more reliable than most in the Eastern States.
